For Sale: 1951 Packard 400 in Bennington, Vermont for sale in Bennington, VT
Vehicle Description 1951 Packard 400 Sedan, full chrome-NOTE:
The $4,500 offer for the car was not refused by me; the person who made the offer almost immediately asked for it to be rescinded due to his finding a different make/model which he had also been looking for.
I granted his request.
All hat and no Packard 1951 was a stellar year for Packard, and the Patrician 400 won several awards for its design.
This particular Packard was first purchased in Arizona and then driven to California, where it has resided ever since.
Present owner is the fourth to possess the auto.
Has original engine, radio (still works!), hubcaps, 6-volt system, all chrome trim (and some extra trim in trunk), tires are good.
Fuel pump, master cylinder, and battery were recently replaced.
Car runs well; transmission was replaced, but can slip in Low when going up a very steep incline (likely the bands just need to be adjusted).
Body is straight (one slight dent on left, upper rear corner panel) and car appears to have original paint; upholstery needs restoration (see photos).
Spare bumper included.
All in all, a very good semi-project car for someone who wants to own a classic Packard.
Ask the man who owns one.
