Vehicle Description 1941 Packard, 4 Door Touring Sedan, Model 110Body off rotisserie.
The frame is restored @ 100%.
Remaining body & parts are restored @ 85%.
Sadly, my husband no longer has time to finish this, his dream car.
We have almost all original remaining parts to complete the restoration and have included photos.
Our plan was to get this original steering wheel restored.
If anyone feels the need to see photos of the Whirly Jig body off restoration process, I can ad those to this listing upon request.
Original Engine - Flat Head, 6 cylinder (runs great)Original Transmission - 3 speed manual (drives great)New Holley Sniper fuel Injection (works great)New custom heat & air conditioning (works great)New Painless harness, completeNew brakes, upholstery & tiresNew glass & rubber sealsPaint:
PPG Deltron base coatPPG Omni 4.
2 Production clear coatWe are including enough base coat to complete the paint job.
Random Info:
Very little wood inside the '41 body, compared to earlier junior Packards; a big plus!Stainless is pretty good.
Pot metal & chrome, not very good.
The rust on the 2 bumpers is only surface rust, so both bumpers are totally restorable!!Fenders are not ready for paint.
They're naked metal that has been sand blasted & treated.
All the flat glass is new w/new seals.
The only glass that is not new, is the rear window glass; it is in good shape & doesn't need to be replaced.
I've got all original lights, which are 6v & look good enough to put on, but they will have to be converted to 12v.
The only new lights I have are 2 new front marker lights.
Story:
This gorgeous, Brilliant Blue classic Packard Touring Car, which was burgundy & black when we first saw it, sat outside at a local garage for appx.
10 years.
A friend of ours bought the car, which had not been started in appx.
10 years.
He then decided he had too many cars & sold it to us in 2018.
My husband tinkered with the original Flat Head 6 engine for appx.
an hour & was super thrilled when it fired up.
He immediately drove it around the parking lot.
He restores old cars for a living & began the restoration using a Whirly Jig auto rotisserie to complete the body off restoration.
The minor flaws on the paint, listed below, are mostly due to unavoidable accidents.
Minor Paint Flaws:
(Photos are the last 4 BLUE ones in the others photo section, before the unfinished parts)There are a few minor flaws in the paint job (shown in photos).
All can be easily repaired.
2 of the flaws show the mud has cracked very slightly; 1 is down the center ridge of the hood, starting at the hood emblem; 1 is appx.
4 on the trunk center (I could NOT get a good photo)2 of the flaws are where we had a cover over the car, the wind blew disturbing the straps, which lightly scratched the very bottom of both front doors.
1 flaw is a small dent with chipped paint on the back left passenger door, close to center.
