Vehicle Description The seller of this 1974 Triumph TR6 Convertible reports spending eight years on its total body-off restoration, with no part of the car left untouched.
He says he has restored other cars, including a Porsche, MGB, TR4A, and Austin-Healey, and that he was restoring the TR6 as his final driver to enjoy.
With that in mind, he gave the car some hidden but useful upgrades to get more power from the engine, while a Toyota five-speed manual transmission enhances performance and highway driving.
I restored this car as a personal driver and didn't attempt to keep a financial record, he states.
Much, but not all the work is noted in the sections below.
During the restoration, the seller says he was beset with heart issues that stopped him from continuing the work.
He shipped the car to Macy's Garage, a vintage Triumph specialist shop in Tipp City, Ohio, to finish the job.
He is now also unable to drive the car more than twice a month.
The seller estimates the car has about 300 miles since completion of the restoration.
