Vehicle Description 1990 Nissan Pao- 72,900 miles!I have a 1990 Pao named Opie the Pao.
This is one of the Pike series of cars.
They were only made in 1989-90.
I've had my fun for 4 years and it's time for a new home.
I bought it April 2020 with 114K kilometers and it now has 117.
3K so that is 72,900 miles currently showing.
It has an automatic transmission, power steering, power brakes and air conditioning.
I had the AC professionally converted to 134, there is a picture of the required sticker on the underside of the hood.
It has a standard double din radio spot.
The two rear speakers were replaced in Japan with 3 ways.
I've added two speakers zip tied up under the dash.
I believe it was a one owner car in Japan and had everything done to it at 100K kilometers including complete tune up, silicone vacuum lines, motor mounts, water pump and timing belt, shocks and stainless exhaust system.
Since I've had it, I've put on new tires in April 2020, had the windows tinted a light color so it doesn't mess up the OE look, right rear wheel cylinder and lift struts.
Also proactively installed a new correct OE Nissan fuel pump from the seller in Dubai.
The top works well with clean tracks that I applied silicone to.
There is a very soft beep that comes on when you hit 100K/60 miles per hour.
Some people disconnect it, it's OE so I left it.
The battery that came in it worked till 6 months ago, I replaced it then.
It came with all its service records and owners' docs from Japan.
I think this car spent its entire life parked indoors, including with me.
Parts are available from Rockauto Canada under 1989 Micra cars, Ebay/UK and several Japanese sellers.
I have all my notes and parts lists/crosses that will go with the car.
Right now it needs nothing other than to be drivenNow the badThe two grommets are missing on the pocket on the back of the passenger's seat.
There is some kind of clear coming off the taillights, I haven't felt the need to do anything with it.
I disconnected the switch at the parking brake that makes the dash light come on as it got kind of wonky.
When the car sits for a week, the fuel evaporates out of the carb bowl requiring you to crank it twice for 5 seconds or so to refill the bowl.
There is a very small dent on the passenger side rocker.
I think it happened at a recent car show! (Grrr!) Other than that, it has never not started hot or cold.
The 10's digit on the odometer centers between two numbers.
It rotates just fine, just stops between two numbers.
The top half of the lower number is the one that it should be stopping on.
The driver's window crank has scratches, possibly from someone wearing a big ring opening it.
If anyone wants to see or ride in the car just let me know.
I'm between Orlando and Tampa.
The hood and front fenders on Pao's are plastic/acrylic and may appear as a slightly different color than the rest of the sheet metal body in the photos.
