Vehicle Description 1965 Cadillac Eldorado Convertible - Matching Numbers 429ci V8 CLASSIC 1965 CADILLAC ELDORADO CONVERTIBLEThis is a 1965 Cadillac Eldorado convertible finished in original factory spec Saddle Firemist paint over Tan leather (including matching Tan leather boot) with an Ivory convertible top.
Power comes from a matching numbers 429ci V8 paired with a three-speed automatic transmission.
Steel 15 wheels wear stock polished steel hubcaps with older BF Goodrich Silvertown white-line tires.
The cabin features factory spec leather seating front and rear with matching dash and floor mats and matching aftermarket carpeting.
Woodgrain trim, and tan leather and carpeting accent the door panels.
As expected this Caddy has many features all of which are operational including:
comfort control A/C, power top, power steering, power brakes, power antenna, AM/FM radio, power windows (front/rear/vent), power locks, power seat and power trunk release and close.
Under previous ownership the following work was accomplished:
body repaint in original factory spec color; replace/rebuild brake (booster and wheel cylinders), suspension (lower ball joints), and exhaust (muffler and tail pipe) components; front end alignment; refurbish the power front seat electrics and recharge the A/C system.
Under my ownership the following work has been done:
rebuild passenger side vent window motor; refurbish AM/FM radio; replace various door lock vacuum hoses; repair trunk close mechanism; repair clock; install new trunk light; install new windshield washer pump and reservoir; rebuild several A/C components including dash fan switch and master control servo; install period correct passenger side rear view mirror; replace timing cover, rear main and oil pan seals; replace radiator hoses; replace cam/crankshaft sprockets and chain; replace several light bulbs/sockets and minor rebuild of automatic transmission including bands, seals and mount.
CAR HISTORYThe mileage of this car is believed to be original although the supporting documentation has been lost over the ages but the condition and operation of the car support that assertion.
(Original car elements such as pedals, mats, door handles, hinges, etc show only minor wear.
) I was told that the car recently spent most of its time in Texas and California so the body/paint/chrome is in excellent condition.
The previous owner installed standard shock absorbers to replace the hydraulic shock system for a more cost effective solution.

Items not working to the best of my knowledge:
windshield wiper squirter on passenger side; auto headlight dimmer does not work consistently.
