Vehicle Description 1989 Porsche 944S2 2-DoorUP for sale is an almost IMMACULATE 1989 Porsche 944 S2 with 120,233 miles on it.
The Paint is ORIGINAL (don't paint them like they used to).
EVERYTHING on this car is FACTORY, EXCEPT the KENWOOD RADIO w/SIRIUS and a few modifications (lowered and roll bar).
EVERYTHING on this VEHICLE WORKS 100% except for the few notations below that I will explain.
STORY:
Although it says I am the 3rd owner, I consider myself part of the 2nd owner.
I actually just titled it this week in my name.
My old boss and CEO, who I knew or over 25 years, used to RACE 944 s2's.
If you know, you know, that the 3.
0 4 cylinder will beat a C4 Corvette.
He and I rode motorcycles together (all brands), raced Porsche's and was the best boss I ever had.
Anyhow, sadly, he suddenly passed away in a plane crash a few years ago (he was pilot as well) and he 'willed' this Porsche to me.
His widow sent me the paperwork she could find, so I have some, but not too much.
I know it has a new timing belt within the last 15-20k miles on it.
Brakes, clutch, Rotors, tires, etc.
under 10k miles, as said, needs a fluid change.
It has NEVER been raced on a track, but it was starting to be setup to BE raced.
It was lowered and a roll cage installed.
IT HAS NEVER BEEN ON A TRACK.
He died before we could complete it and race it.
This roll bar is a BOLT on roll bar.
With any car this age, what I do have is, the paperwork that SAYS the AC was fixed 3 times, well, guess what? It still leaks somewhereI have to recharge it every now and then, and then it works for 6
months, I have put DYE in it, but alas.
still leaking somewhere.
It HAS been converted to r134a.
But, compressor etc is all fine, every time I recharge, it works fine again for the 6
months.
It does NOT leak ANY FLUIDS whatsoever and, I honestly would get in it personally, and drive it from Florida to California and not be worried.
It is generally stored in my climate controlled garage, and I try and drive it twice a month for 10-100 miles so the mileage WILL be HIGHER than listed.
Wether or not I drive it, I have my detail guy detail it once a month and I have the oil changed.
I, unexpectedly had to go out of country for a few months, and when I came back, she started right up, butthe clutch was on the floorafter priming and pumping, and driving it, it came back.
I will attempt to have the clutch/brake fluid changed and flushed.
but, once it's pumped back up, no leaks, it works fine and doesn't slipit just sat too long.
And, if you follow Porsche forums, if they sitthis happensonce I prime it back up, works great!I do oil changes every 3 months with MOA by BG, driven or not, if you know, you know.
.
Carpet is in great shape, so is the dash, interior, exterior, etcsunroof works PERFECTLY to open close or remove (just know, if you are a Porsche enthusiast-you have to KNOW how to operate it correctly).
It currently has RECARO racing seats in it, again, we were setting it up to raceBut, I have the original, LEATHER seats included.
Leather on both the FRONT and rear seats (folded now due to roll bar) are in GREAT condition.
Airbag etc lights on the dash are on, because.
well, it has the racing seats in it with no plugs, however, when the original seats are plugged back in, those AirBag lights will go off.
It has NO RUST at ALL! It does have CLEAR UV window tinting as well.
I was given this Porsche because I care for ALL my vehicles and maintain them flawlessly.
I want this nice and original Porsche 944 S2 to go to someone who will care for it, and enjoy it, my son wants it so badly, but in my willIf it doesn't sell, he will definitely get it one day.
For being 34 years old, this car, is, in EXCELLENT shape.
No shakes or shimmies at 100mph on the interstate, corners fine, rides smooth, brakes work, etconly the AC flaw and currently the clutch issue, again, I will have the clutch/brake fluid changed and flushed.
I am going to refill the r134a in the AC with DYE and see if I can personally locate the leak.
I get lots of honks and conversations at gas stations on the car, if you appreciate old classic Porsche's, this one will turn heads, and it's mostly STOCK!Look at all the phots and the engine video.
I will try and answer any questions you may have, if you need additional pictures and it's allowed, I will take them for you.
I can only tell you what I know, my experiences driving this fantastic 944, be assured, I am honest, but, only to the point of what I know.
If I can not answer a question for you, I will be honest and say I don't know.
Cheers,Marc.
