For Sale: 1966 Pontiac GTO in Bennington, Vermont for sale in Bennington, VT
Vehicle Description 1966 Pontiac GTO 2-Dr HardtopThis lovely customized 1966 Pontiac Tempest GTO 2-Dr hardtop is from an Estate Sale and as valued by Auto Appraisal Network.
The appraisal noted that the condition of the car is listed as very good for most of the car's attributes, with the underside, carpets and rear shelf being listed as good.
The engine compartment condition is listed as excellent.
Based on the VIN, this GTO was originally painted Burgundy with black style trim, which has been preserved in the restoration/customization.
Customization includes high performance items such as NOM 350 cubic inch V8 engine, 4-barrel carburetor, aluminum intake manifold, power steering, power front disc brakes, exhaust headers, 4 speed manual transmission with center console Hurst shifter, Auto Meter black face gauges, JVC AM/FM/CD stereo, bucket seats with seat belts, 10-bolt rear-end, American Racing 14 chrome alloy wheels, dual exhaust with chrome tips and yellow pearl exterior paint with custom hood ghost graphics.
As the seller, I don't have much information about the restoration and customization of this GTO.
It has a kill switch and the lights need to be turned on for many of the gauges to function.
I start the car every 1-2 weeks and occasionally drive it on rural roads and highways.
It runs flawlessly and it rides beautifully.
Mileage indicated is current since it has been in storage for the winter.
Mileage at time of delivery may be slightly more since it is periodically driven and to avoid letting it sit.
The interior ceiling light is not working (I don't know if the bulb needs replacing) and the front passenger and both rear seatbelts should be replaced.
The glove compartment does not open.
Also, the car does not have a heater core, it appears to have been removed during the restoration, so no heat in the winter until one is installed again.
It also does not have a horn.
Turn signals, high and low beams and wipers function properly.
The faux wood grain on the gauge panel is loose and can be removed to reveal the more authentic dash underneath which looks alot better.
Included in the sale are two rims - one has a new spare and the other is a worn tire, but the bonus is in the extra rim.
I know this car was shown in Northeastern Pennsylvania and won numerous shows and it turns heads when it is driven.
