For Sale: 1963 Jaguar E-Type in Bennington, Vermont for sale in Bennington, VT

1 of 50
Vehicle Description The history of the early Jaguar E-type (XK-E in North American markets) has been extensively written over 60-plus years.
The E-type was a direct descendant of Jaguar's three-time Le Mans winning D-type, including the 3.
8-liter DOHC XK-engine, semi-monocoque construction with a front subframe, four-wheel disc brakes-set inboard in the independent rear suspension beside the differential-and a sleek aerodynamic body designed by Jaguar's Malcolm Sayer based on aircraft principles.
All at a surprisingly affordable price.
The 3.
8-liter Series 1 E-types produced between March 1961-October 1964 remain perhaps the most desirable, both for the purity of the concept and the fact that they were the first.
This 1963 Jaguar E-type Series 1 Open Two-Seater (OTS) was purchased by the California seller about 20 years ago, from a collector in Santa Monica.
Judging from the photos and description provided, it appears that this E-type has been thoroughly maintained and preserved.
A bare metal refinish, new Connolly leather seat covers, Wilton carpet, brakes and suspension service have all been completed in recent years.
During the seller's ownership, this Jaguar has won first in class at the Dana Point Concours d'Elegance (then held at the Strawberry Farm Golf Club in Irvine, California), and second in class at the Los Angeles Concours d'Elegance.
It is being offered now because he is downsizing.
