Stratton Mountain is currently seeking a qualified, creative and caring Teacher Associate.
This position pays $22.
00/hour.
This is a full time-year-round benefit eligible position!POSITION SUMMARYTeacher Associates are responsible for caring for the health, wellbeing and age-appropriate education of infants, toddlers and young children in our child care setting.
This includes communicating any concerns, milestones and goals to parents/guardians of any children within the classroom on a given day.
Must implement curriculum for coinciding recurring and nonrecurring programs that is developmentally appropriate and will encourage engagement and participation.
Must be able to maintain the facility in a healthy and safe working order, while observing all state mandated regulations.
Teacher Associates are also responsible for supervising and providing guidance to any Teacher Assistants and Classroom Aides within their assigned classroom, ensuring everyone is in compliance with state regulations and are following the curriculum as outlined.
ESSENTIAL DUTIESo Interact with, initiate, and encourage children in all activities during the day, ensuring their safety at all timeso Create and implement an age appropriate curriculum using the Vermont Early Childhood Learning Standardso Maintain an age appropriate classroom daily scheduleo Attend and participate in regular staff meetings and trainingso Foster communication between parents and caregivers through daily interactionso Responsible for the development and maintenance of portfolios for all children in the reoccurring programo Assist with daily tasks that maintain the tidiness of the facilityo Perform behavioral and cognitive assessments for all children in their care at least two times per yearo Organize and prepare for parent teacher conferenceso To maintain a cooperative and supportive attitude with other staff memberso Must complete 24 hours of approved professional development annuallyo Be knowledgeable in, and uphold, state licensing requirements and regulationso In conjunction with the Child Care Director, support and address staff issues and concernso Participate, and assist in, coordination of emergency procedureso Everyone employed at Stratton Child Care Center is a mandated reporter and is responsible for calling the Department of Child and Family Services to report any suspected abuse or neglect, as outlined by DCF.
o Ensures staff wears designated protective materials and follows procedures as mandatedo Perform a variety of administrative tasks as neededo Be prepared to understand and immediately follow designated protocol for reporting unsafe conditionso Other duties as assigned by Childcare ManagerEDUCATION & EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTSEducation:
o Must meet, or exceed, Vermont standards for Teacher Associate position.
o At least 21 college credits in Early Education or a qualifying Associate's Degree.
o Must have GED or High School Diploma
Experience:
o At least year experience working in a licensed childcare center, or as an Early Elementary Educator.
o Must be at least 20 years of age.
