This will include ensuring lifts open on time and are prepared for guests, staff is properly trained on all necessary aspects of lift operation, meets department expectations, and delivering a memorable experience to our guests.
The Lift Ops Supervisor will supervise a staff of approximately 60 employees, assist in recruiting, training, budgeting, planning and other administrative tasks for the department.
This is a full time winter seasonal position that pays $22.
00/hour!ESSENTIAL DUTIES Supervise and conduct various administrative duties for both the lift and validation departments Answering phones and email communications in a timely manner Communicate mechanical problems to lift maintenance staff and/or dispatch Evaluate mazes, load/unload ramps, and make recommendations for efficiency and improvement Ensure all scanning and communication equipment is properly working and submit work orders to IT Ability to troubleshoot common technical issues with scanning equipment Assist in recruiting, interviews and hiring process Assist with trainings and keeping all relevant materials up to date (videos, on-hill, policies, and paperwork) Administrative tasks such as inventory control, staffing, scheduling, payroll, daily lift logs, updating/tracking employee records (department policies, offboarding/onboarding) Ensure pass/ticket problems are dealt with efficiently Possess/learn a complete understanding of all pass products and media Ability to react to changes in workforce and step into any position as needed Distribute, collect, and inventory uniforms Assist with transporting employees to/from their lift on mountain Conducting monthly safety/service trainings, facility audits and submit work orders as needed Help enforce all employee punch times and document attendance issues Responsible for communicating with our employees in Stratton housing Coordinate travel of international staff Handle employee/guest conflicts according to resort policy Send regular email communication to staff to keep staff informed of all department updates, pertinent mountain information and events Facilitate keeping all of our work areas clean and orderly This job description is an overview of the scope of responsibilities and is not intended to be an inclusive list of job tasks and expectations.

QUALIFICATIONS, KNOWLEDGE, SKILL AND ABILITY REQUIREMENTS Strong leadership skills and attention to detail in high-stress work environment Previous experience in lift operations and management is a plus Advanced skiing/snowboarding skills Snowmobile experience is a plus Strong team player with a safety-first mindset and outstanding verbal and written communication skills Strong computer skills (RTP, Excel, Word, Outlook) Exceptional organizational skills Outgoing and friendly personality and the ability to engage with our guests Ability to work outside for long periods of time in inclement weather Ability to independently solve problems and resolve customer/employee complaints Conscientious and motivated to provide great customer service High School diploma or equivalent Reliable transportation to/from work PHYSICAL DEMANDS AND WORKING CONDITIONS This position requires availability on weekends and holidays.
Must have a reliable mode of transportation and a clean driving record.
Mountain Environment:
The primary physical environment in which this position works is out of doors with a high exposure level to cold, wind, rain, bugs, sun, high altitude, extreme heights, lightning, etc The degree of strenuous activity within the job is considered to be high.
Often lifting a weight of 50 pounds throughout the day is common.
Additional strenuous physical activity may include walking or hiking upon uneven, challenging terrain with heavy tools or equipment.
Exposure to:
Chemicals required for cleaning, de-greasing, and painting Ultra Violet radiation from the sun enhanced through lack of atmospheric filtration at work altitude.
Fumes produced in activities ranging from cleaning to painting to fabrication of metal products.
Noise generated by lift equipment, and tools may require hearing protection to be worn.
Talking and hearing occur continuously in the process of communicating with guests, supervisors and other employees.
Vision occurs continuously with the most common visual functions being those of near vision and depth perception.
